Another amazing lunch at Compadres Hill Country Cocina in Boerne! We shared the George Strait tacos with rice and beans. Absolutely delicious pulled pork with the raspberry chipotle BBQ sauce and the best beans and rice we’ve ever had!! Highly recommend! And make sure to be there when they open, they sellout quick!
Some of the best Tex Mex bbq I’ve had in the area. I had the Hill Country Philly which was on crispy bread with smoked fajitas and onions as well as poblano queso and enchilada Mac and Cheese. The fajitas were very tender and bread was crispy. Overall excellent food and quick service look forward to coming back.
Took a nice drive to Boerne, on a well deserved day off with the wifey. Been following the social media buzz on this local Icon on for awhile. Met the owner Mark, and was humbled by his welcoming hospitality. He mentions that Wrestling Icon "Bill GOLDBERG" had just arrived. As thrilling as he might be, I was more amazed by the food! Cool that we sat next to him though. Unique RGV style BBQ. We had the pulled pork and fajita tacos, and of course Fideo. All were exceptional and full of flavor. We brought home the Smoked BBQ chicken and more Fideo for dinner. One of the best Chicken meals we've had so far! Gonna take awhile to break down the mix of spices in this bird. Defintely going back soon.
Finally went to visit the infamous Compadres and it did not disappoint. We went on a monday for lunch and it was busy but food was quick to order and be delivered. Tacos al Carbon had phenomenal flavor. Rice had perfect texture. We also had chips and queso and this is hands down my favorite queso I have ever had. I had the birria trio and it was packed with flavor and freshness. Atmosphere was a little different but we warmed up to it quickly. Kind service and large portions of meat. As a local, I will definitely be back to try more of the menu and get more queso;)
I went there for the first time today after seeing them on The Texas Bucket List and it was a very good experience. I had the Tacos Al Cabron with beef and it was some of the best meat I've had anywhere.
I happened to be in the area servicing my vehicle, and thrilled to remember about this small spot doing amazing things. I haven’t had smoked fajitas in a long time, and done right for that matter. Tender and beautiful smoke ring. You can taste the freshness from the salsa to the sides. I took it to go but I bet the experience dining in is even better. Simplicity at its greatest, now I have a secret spot to take my out of town friends. Price point for the quality and service is about right.
Honey and I absolutely loved Compadres. The food was spot on. The service was fanfreakingtastic. I liked the atmosphere the most. It reminded me of a hole in the wall my father would have taken us to when I was a kid. We kinda cheated. Honey ordered the George Stait tacos and I ordered the Raspberry Chipotle pulled pork tacos. The enchiladas are absolutely amazing, beans perfect but the rice not so much (not a deal breaker). The potato bowl with fajitas was great.
